The Battle of Shiloh took place in Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee. The generals were; South-Beauregard and North-Johnson. The battle ended with many casualties as well as Jhonson dying. The Union won, allowing them to control of the Tennessee river. -

The battle of Fort Sumter took place in Charleston, Virginia. The generals of this battle were; South-Beauregard adn North-Anderson. The battle ended on April 14, 1861 with the Confederats taking the victory. This battle started the Civil War. -

The first Battle of Bull Run led to army reorginization. This was the first battle of the Civil War after Fort Sumpter. The generals in this battle were; South-Beauregard and North-McDowell. The battle was located in Manassas, Virginia. In the end, the Confederates(South) won. -
Battle of Hampton Roads
This battle took place in Hapmton Roads, Virginia. The generals were; South-Buchanan and North-Worden. The battle initiated the first engagement of ironclads in history. The battle ende on March 9, 1862 with an inconclusive victor. -
2nd Bull Run
The second Battle of Bull Run took place in Manassas, Virginia. The generals were; South-Jackson and North-Pope. General Jackson earned his nickname "Stonewall Jackson" after resisting the Union troops, leading to a conferdaerate victory. The battle ended on 30 Aug. 1862. -
Battle of Antietam
The battle of Antietam was considered one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War. The generals of this battle were; South-Lee and North-McClellan. This battle led to Abraham Lincoln passing the Emancipation Proclomation. The battle took place in Sharpsburg, Maryland. -
Battle of Fredricksburg
The Battle of Fredricksburg took place in Fredricksburg, Virginia. THe generals were; South-Lee and North-Burnside. This battle was very bloody and ended with many casualties. The Union wins leaving Lee with another victory and causing Lincoln to become frustrated with his unsuccessful generals. -
Emancipation Proclamation
Issued by Abraham Lincoln, as the nation approached its third year of the bloody Civil War. Proclamation declared that "all person held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and hence forward shall be free." Limited in many ways, and did not end slavery. In 1936 transferred to the National Archives of the United States. -
Battle of Chancellorsville
The Battle of Chancellorsville took place in Chancellorsville, Virginia. The gnerals were; South-Lee and North-Hooker. This battle was a Union diaster with many casualties, although "Stonewall" Jackson was killed. The battle ended on 4 May 1863 with a Confederate victory. -
Battle of Gettysburg
The Battle of Gettysburg took place in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Union won, leaving the confederates with many losses. After this battle, the South would never again invade the North again. The generals were; South-Lee and North-Meade. The battle ended on 3 July 1863. -
Siege of Vicksburg
The siege of Vicksburg took place in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The Union victory at Vicksburg gave the North control of the Mississippi River. The generals were; South-Pemberton and North-Grant. -
Siege of Atlanta
The siege of Atlanta took place in Atlanta, Georgia. The generals were; South-Sherman and North-Hood. The battle ended on September 2, 1864. -
Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse
This was the day that Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant. It was in Virginia at the Appomattox Courthouse. Grant was still on good terms after the surrender, feeding hungry soilders and letting them keep their possesions. The North claimed victory after the surrender. About 3,000,000 men served in the North and South. -
Assassanation of Abraham Lincoln
At Ford's Theatre, in Washington D.C., Maryland, President Lincoln was watching a play with his wife. John Wilkes Booth, a Confederate supporter, shot Lincoln in the back of the head on April 14, 1865. Abraham was quickly takien to the hospital, but the bullet in his brain could not be dislodged. On the morning of April 15, 1865, Abraham Lincoln died. -
Ratification of the 13th Amendment
The 13th amandment abolished slavery in all of the US. This amendment was the first of the Reconstruction amendments.
