    The Union certainly had considerable advantages. There were 22 million people in the North compared with only 9 million in the South (of whom only 5.5 million were whites).The North also had more money, more factories, more horses, more railroads, and more food. These advantages made the United States much more powerful than the Confederate States.

    Black men and women were forced to build fortifications, work as blacksmiths, nurses, boatmen, and laundresses, and to work in factories, hospitals, and armories. They promised some to be free if they help but most of them died in the war and was lied to of beening free.

The battle saw 2,900 killed, wounded, captured, or missing for Union army and 2,000 for Confederates. When Confederate reinforcements arrived on the battlefield Confederates won the battle. But the north wanted revange !

    he Battle of Antietam was fought along Antietam Creek, at Sharpsburg, Maryland on September 17, 1862. This was called the bloodest day in the United States. The union claimed a victory. All though the union won they suffered losses of over 12,000 men dead.

Its concidered to be the most immportant battle of the cival war.The comader of the south was general Lee, but the north had a new commander, General George G. Meade.After three days of firece fighting Lee withdrew his army back to Virgina. Resulting in a Union Victory.

    On April 15, 1865 Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. Just five days after the end of the civil war. John failed to kill the vice president. VP soon took over Lincolns position as president.

    The war ended by the North surrounded the last of the confederacy Army. As part of Reconstruction, a new amendments was added to the Constitution. The Fourteenth Amendment, passed in June 1865, granted citizenship to all people born or in the United State.
