The little rock nine or the first blacks kids to go to a white svhool. There entrance to a school caused a riot which made the president call in army soldiers to help these kids enter the school. But this was a major win for the negro community because the finally had an equal opportunity as edcuation. -
Sit-ins Greensboro/Nashville
Negro students were beat or arrested for peacefully protesting discrimination in diners,and this outraged the negro community who boycotted business.Due to the loss of revenue many restruants stopped discrimination in their diners. -
March on Birmingham
Martin Luther King and other negros tried to change the discrimination in birmingham but the they were brutality stopped by police officials and pictures showed violent ways the police treated these people. -
March on Washington
Thousands of african americans gathered in front of the lincoln memorial and protested together for change in this country,this march showed the unity that the black community had and the devotion they had for their cause. -

This law outlawed discrimination,this law was passed because of the march on washignton which pressured the government to finally pass such a law. -
Voting Rights act of 1965
Outlawed all types of discriminatory voting practices that many southern states practice and finally let negros vote without being forced to take literacy test. -

Was a devastating event for the negro community,but they respond well because they seeked to finish what Martin luther Kings started.
