    They were made to enforce racial segregation, whites only and colored signs appeared everywhere segregating
  • Plessy v. Ferguson

    Plessy boarded a “white only”” train and was arrested because he wouldn’t move to the colored section. He argued that the Louisiana’s segregation violated the 14th amendment’s guarantee of equal protection. The court said there was a reason to separate the races because the separation was equal.

    This amendment says that no person can be denied the right to vote because of their sex.
