    Peace of Augsburg
    Was a treaty signed by Charles V. Between the Holy Roman with the Schmaldic on September 25th 1555. Religious conflict was still happening after the Peace statement. The argument still continued because the Peace statement didn't recognize Calvinism.

    Battle of Lepanto
    One of Philip II famous victories. The Battle of Lepanto was a naval engagement against the Turks. The fleet waited until August 24th 1571 for the spanierds. The battle marked the first significant victory for a Christian force.

    St. Bartholomew's Day massacre
    King Charles IX ordered the assassination of Huguenot Protestant leaders in Paris. Charles issued a royal order on August 25 to halt the killing. His order went unheard as the massacre spread. An estimated 3,000 French Protestants were killed in Paris.

    After her 44 years of rule, Queen Elizabeth died. Later her throne was replaced by King Henry VIII. When she died England had become a major world power. She passed into history of one of Englands greatest monarchs.

    Parliament passes Petition of Right
    The Petition of Right of 1628 is one of England's most famous Constitutional documents. The document was written by Parliment. It was written as an objection to an overreach of authority by King Charles I. The citezens saw this as a major infringement on their civil rights.

    The Peace of Westphalia officially ended the war in 1648.The statement gave Sweden, France, and their allies new territories. It also divided more than 300 states of the Holy Roman Empire. It made them all their own independent state with the freedom to determine their own religion.

    Hobbes was alarmed by the revolutionary upheavals in England. So he published The Leviathan.The Leviathan was written to try to deal with the problem of disorder. Hobbes wrote this to save themselves from destroying one another.

    James II was King of England and Ireland as James II and King of Scotland from 6 February 1685 until he was deposed in the Glorious Revolution of 1688. He was the last Roman Catholic monarch of England, Scotland and Ireland.James is best known for his struggles with the English Parliament and his attempts to create religious liberty for English Roman Catholics and Protestant nonconformists, against the wishes of the Anglican establishment.

    A group of English nobles invited the Dutch leader, William of Orange, to invade England. They told William that most of the kingdom wanted a change. The invazion but him and his wife into a dificult situation. It was not until early October that James realized William's intentions.

    The Toleration Act was a small reprint of the Maryland Toleration Act. Also known as the Act Concerning Religion. It was a law mandating religious tolerance for Trinitarian Christians. It was passed on April 24th 1689.

    John Locke viewed the political power differently. So he published Two Treatises of Gov. that argued against the absolute rule of one person. JL believed that before society was organized. He belived that all humans had natural rights.

    Muhi-ud-Din Muhammad, commonly known by the sobriquet Aurangzeb or by his regnal title Alamgir, was the sixth, and widely considered the last effective Mughal emperor. His reign lasted for 49 years from 1658 until his death in 1707.

    He was known as the God-given king he began his reign in 1643 till his death. He left France surrounded by enemies and many of the French people in poverty. On his deathbed he told his grandson not to imitate him. He told him to live in peace.

    Nadir Shah, a powerful warrior and ruler didn't let the opportunity slip past him. So, he exploited the weakness of last Moguls.Right at the right time he attacked and plundered the city of Delhi in 1739. By taking Delhi he took away an immense amount of wealth.
