First Contact made with mentee
Got in contact with my mentee, Steve, explaining the project and what would be needed from him and his classroom. -
Background Information
Will meet with Steve to gain more knowledge of previous experience with using technology in class assignments. Will gain a better understanding oh their comfort level of using technology. -
Strategizing
Steve and I will narrow down our project plan to a few choices of possible lessons. Will need to know what kind of access Steve's school has to technology equipment. -
Topic of Assignment will be chosen
After Steve and I choose a topic for the project we will begin brainstorming on possible lessons. -
Lesson Planning
Steve and I will meet to discus equipment and materials needed for the students during the first lesson. -
Practice run
Steve and I will prepare for the lesson by walking through the general basics of each objective to make sure the lesson will run according to planned. Here we will see if there needs to be any changes made as well as any adaptations that might need to be addressed. -
1st Lesson with class
Mr. Burke will present the lesson to the class and have them follow procedures that him and I both developed to meet the required standards of the lesson. -
Check for comprehension
Steve will take the students through a short test to check for comprehension and knowledge of the technology being used. We will be able to see what needs to be focused on more and what students may need extra attention before continuing to the next part of the curriculum. In the first lesson students weer introduced to Hudl features. They were shown how to sign up to start their own profile. The basics of the online program were discussed and demonstrated by Mr. Burke. -
Google Hang Out
Steven Burke and I will video chat over Google Hang Out to review and prepare for the next lesson. Based off of feedback from checking for comprehension we plan the next lesson accordingly. -
2nd Lesson with Class
The students have been able to practice on their own of the newly learned skills. Leading up to the 2nd lesson Mr. Burke and I planned accordingly to how we saw the students progress from the first lesson. The students were able to learn different note taking and sharing methods when using the web based program for Hudl. -
2nd Check for Comprehension
Students were given a short survey to check for comprehension -
2nd Google Hang Out
Mr. Burke and I will meet over Google Hang Out to overview the 3rd lesson. The students will learn how to use the mobile app that can be used on any smart phone or tablet. -
3rd Lesson with class
The students will be shown how to use the smart phone/ tablet application and how to use it's features. The students will be able to see the similaraties and differences between the web based features and smart phone/ tablet ones.
