  • 4.4 Childhood Attachment Experiences (continued)

My mom and stepfather’s relationship is something I see in my relationship. They both are independent, they make their own decisions and they trust each other completely.
  • 4.4 Childhood Attachment Experiences

I believe that my attachment issues had developed when I was at the age of 6-7 years old. At this time, my parents were separated and I often spent time with my mom’s boyfriend who is currently my stepfather. I would only see my dad a few times a week and I would only see my stepfather during the day. This is where I explored myself, I became an independent person. I made my own decisions because the only person who was actually in my life and I felt secure to be around was my mother. continued
  • 4.1 Young Adult Role Transition

At the same time, my parents were going through a divorce, which pretty much made me grow up a bit faster.
  • 4.1 Young Adult Role Transition

Social Roles, when I was much younger at the approximate age of 7 years old. I remember most of the events that I lived through at the age of 7 years old. My social life had began, I made more friends and began to build some sort of my own identity. At that stage of my life I started to like boys (ignoring all the "cooties") and started sleeping over my friends' houses often. It was my small step into the "teen" life even though I was pretty young.
  • 7.3 Major Life Event

I was just a 13 year old, "graduating" from 8th grade and heading into High school. One day my dad's girlfriend at the time and her three kids and myself wanted to head over the Harper's Ferry in West Virginia. When we got there went swimming and unfortunately I ended up seeing a dead person's body. This person was an 18 year old boy, who just graduted high school and was spending the summer with his family before going to college. (continued)
  • 7.3 Major Life Event (continued)

When I saw this 18 year old's dead body floating in the water, the experience was traumatic. I was just 13 years old and I never thought I would see this kind of thing happen. When I got home I talked with my mom about it, the experience and what I saw. This is known to be social coping, I was seeking help from others who never experienced something like this. My mother's support was both instrumental and emotional. Social coping was effective because my mom gave me the support I needed
  • 1.1 The Beginning

As I read the text, I believe my social age made an impact of when I became an adult. I became an adult the day I entered High school. My responsibility to do homework, complete errands and stay committed to school had increased. I had my first real boyfriend, I learned how to drive and I had became more involved and committed to Extracurricular activities.I personally believe that I became an adult at the age of 14 years old.
  • 4.2- Older Adult Role Transition

The day that I become an adult is the day that I get married. This is where my commitment for something grows stronger, the day where planning a family comes into the picture. Responsibilities of having a job, house, and finances come in. I expect that the day I get married is the day that I start to have children, this is where my life as becoming an older adult comes into the picture, this is where I have people depending on me.
  • 7.2 Transitions

College, the day that I left home, the transition for me was not easy even though I only live an hour away from here. I found myself missing home; I had to go through new experiences here at Gallaudet. I had to do some problem solving without my mom’s help, live with new people in a new environment and be committed to school (in high school I didn’t really like going to school). Even though the transition was tough and uneasy for me, it grew on me and I am now used to it.
  • 2.3- My current healthy lifestyle

As I completed the survey on my current healthy lifestyle. I have come to the conclusion that I do not lead a healthy lifestyle. College is to blame for this, I often find myself with an alcoholic drink on the weekends because my friends party and I want to join them, I eat junk food because theres nothing else better in the cafeteria. While in the cafeteria I try my best to eat as much vegetables as I can however when it comes to fruit, theres nothing good, they are either old or have mold.

2.4- Potential consequences of my lifestyle. (continued)

If I want to lead a healthy lifestyle and improve my health before I get old, I will need to eat the proper nutrients that my body needs. I will need to sleep at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. I would need to exercise everyday and go to the doctor's office for frequent check ups.
  • 4.3 Adult Attachment Style

After taking the quiz, it shows that I am secure and have low anxiety. I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years and 11 months so this would make sense. We are very comfortable with each other; we always have each other to rely on when in need of help. I believe that the attachment that I have is attachment orientation. This is where I can explore the world, meet new people, and learn new things. I am currently undergoing a long distance relationship and yet I am still in a relationship.

  • 2.2 Genetic Limits

In use of genetic limits, I would be sure that all of those who are at the age of 21 receive a shot of hayflick limit. This is where the human embryos are being divided 50 times, I will give a shot of hayflick limit. In that shot there are chicken embryos that will help consist a person's lifeline. However, the only downside to this is that you will need to get this shot every 21 years.
  • 7.1 Fowler- Individuative-reflective faith

Growing up I have always been used to having someone give me authorization. I grew up having teachers and my parents telling me the difference from right and wrong, they help guide me into making the right decisions. However, now that I am growing up and getting closer and closer to graduation I find myself making my own decisions such as where I will be living in the near future, graduate school, things related to money and car repairs. I am no longer under my parent’s authorization.
  • 6.4- self-aware

At this stage of life I will most likely be either in graduate school or have a full time job. This is where I will characterize my lifestyle and myself. At this stage of life I will most liekly be feeling lonliness and be on a different path from my peers. This is where I will be spending time with my loved one; this is what I see in most of the interviews including my own interview. I see that the people that were being interviewed mentioned a few things about their loved one.
  • 6.2 Super’s Stages.

Establishment- When I hit the age of 25, I want to make sure that I have a stable job and income where I can support my spouse. At the same time, I imagine myself having children so I would need to be financially ready to do so. At that age I would be 25 years old, which is a perfect age for me to have a job and stable living environment. Which will guide me into the maintenance and disengagement career development.
  • 6.1 My RIASEC type

Completing both websites, I find myself having strengths in working with people socially. I do agree with this, I love working with people and animals. I am very cooperative, understanding, helpful, tactful and definitely sociable. My characteristics are the reason of why I am currently a Psychology major. There are several different job options that were provided such as special education secondary teacher, school psychologist, teacher aid, and so forth.
  • 6.1 My RIASEC type (continued)

I do have an interest in becoming a special needs secondary teacher. My mom is actually a special needs teacher and I always see her coming home every day from work with a huge smile on her face because she made a difference in their lives. That is something that I would like to do, make a difference in someone's life, especially when it is related to education.
  • 2.4- Potential consequences of my lifestyle.

As explained on page 89, women are most likely to develop arthritis, asthma, thyroid disease and so forth. I know that by the time I am 50 years old I will have thyroid disease because it runs in the family. Not only that, I am currently not living a healthy lifestyle. As a college student I am not taking care of my body the way it needs to be taken care of. I stay up late and not get efficent hours of sleep, I drink alcohol every weekend and do not get the proper nutrients that my body needs.
  • 2.4- Potential consequences of my lifestyle. (continured)

Since I want to live a healthy lifestyle I will need to change my eating habits in order to live a longer and healthier life. I will need to get all the proper nutrients that my body needs. I also would need to get the same hours of sleep every night in order to make sure that my body maintains proper care. Not only that, I would need to make frequent doctor visits in order to make sure that I am healthy. This is how I can prevent myself from getting thyriod disease and other diseases.
  • 3.1 Working Memory

Prospective memory, this will most likely happen to me when I get older. Prospective memory is where you remember to do something later on or in the future. For example, today is thursday and I plan on setting up a dinner date with a friend on sunday. As I get older it will be most likely that I forget those little things. If it is something I am likely to do every sunday then thats a different story but when it comes to new things, I will most likely forget things due to old age.
  • 3.2 Attention

Socioemotional selectivity theory- This is where older people have more meaningful aspects of life, they have the desire to lead a meaningful life to have emotionally intimate social relationships. This is where older people direct their attention to emotionally intimate social relationships. This has a somewhat connection to prospective memory. We direct our attention to someone old or new in order to carry an intimate relationship.
  • 6.3-Generativity

Generatively is one of the most common examples that I have seen. The interviewers were often asked about their goals in life such as what they have accomplished and what they hope to have be accomplished. I too asked my stepfather about one of his goals that he hopes to accomplish. This shows that they strive to be involved giving to others or making one's mark on the world that is something that I hope to do some day.
  • 8.1- The end

  • 8.1- The end (continued)

Celine's contribution to the Deaf community was astonishing. She had never given up hope for equality. Celine had continued to do what she believed in and she also taught her family members to do the same. Her daughter Sarika and son Slava worked hard to get where they are today because of their mother. They both are currently professors at Gallaudet as well. Celine's mark on the world made a huge difference in the Deaf community.
