Royal Proclimation
the proclimation drew aline for colonists that they couldn't go past, to avoid conflicts with aboriginals. although it ended being unsucessful because colonist would still cross the line and go into the land. -
Sugar Act
this was when the british put taxes on sugar and molases to raise money. colonists were angered and started smuggling in there own goods, which decreased britans buisness. -
Stamp Act
the British put taxes on many paper products, this was to also help raise money for britian. colonists continued to smuggle in there own products which took away buisness from britian. -
Declaratory Act
this was for the full power and authority of parliment to make laws and bind colonies and people of america. this made britian assure there power over americans, but it did not give many results. -
Townshend Act
this causes taxes to be put on common goods such as tea, glass, lead, and dyes. british though this woud be an efficant way to raise money.colonist were also angered by this act wich kept causeing them to smuggle in goods and to decrease britians buisness, (later repealed.) -
Bostson Masacare
in Boston 50 protesters faced a small group of british soilders, conflicts started to become agressive between to two when protesters started throwing objects causeing the british soilders to shoot 5 colonist. this was the first main cause of the revolution. -
Tea Act
taxes were placed on all tea iteams to help save the british tea company. This angered colonist, they reacted by dumping tons of tea into the ocean, also known as the boston tea party. because of this act colonist also stoped buying tea. -
Intolerable Acts
These were laws set in place to punish the people of boston and Massachussets, because british were andered over the Boston Tea party. This cause many colonist to become more hostile toward Britian and was one of the last straws leading to the revolution. -
Quebec Act
This act allowed Quebec to extend it boundaries south of the ohio river. british were overriding claims in some states taking away land. Colonist became enraged and began to seperate themselves from the british, they now nolonger felt to be with british.
