    The proclamation of 1763 was signed by King George the III of England. Prohibited any any English settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. It started to create tension between the Native Americans and the French.
  • The Sugar Act of 1764

    The cost for the war was 70 million dollars. This act increased the duties on imported sugar and other items such as coffee, wines, and indigo (dye). The reason for the sugar act was to stop smuggling trade.

    The stamp act was passed by the Parliament imposing the first direct tax on the American Colonies, to offset the high costs of the British Military organization in America. For the first time in the 150 year old history of the British colonies in America, the Americans will pay tax no to their own local legislatures in America, but directly to England. All printed materials were taxed, including: newspapers, pamphlets, bills, legal documents, licenses, almanacs, dice and playing cards.

    The Boston Massacre was when a group of nine British soldiers shot five people. They shot these five people out of a crowd that was harassing them and throwing various projectiles. The Boston Massacre was because of taxation without representation.

    The Main thing was the Tea Act of May 10, 1773, this was because the British East company was allowed to sell tea to China in American colonies. Protested that were disguised destroyed an entire shipment of tea. They destroyed this ship because it was sent by the East India Company.

    The Boston Port act was also called the trade act and was passed in March 1774. Since the tea was thrown into the river during the Boston Tea Party they ordered the citizens of Boston to pay a large fine. The Act helped bring together the Thirteen Colonies because they were angry against the Crown.

    The Administration of Justice Act was the same day as the Massachusetts Government Act. It was also called the Murder Act and it was stated to ensure a fair trial for the British officials that were charged because of the protests in Massachusetts Bay.The Parliament passed the Act to have authority over it's increasingly unruly colonies.

    The Massachusetts Government Act was a effort by England to reign and punish Massachusetts because of The Boston Tea Party. The act was really harsh and cancelled Massachusetts Charter of 1691. The Massachusetts Government Act was one of the Intolerable Acts.

    The Quartering act was in 1774 and there was a previous Quartering Act in 1765. The Quartering Act in 1774 was to have soldiers in barracks and in public houses. The colonies also provided food, drinks and other things.

    The Quebec Act was passed in 1774. They did this because they wanted to guarantee the freedom of the worship. Also because they wanted loyalty from the french speaking majority.
