french and indian war
A war between France and Brittian over the control of land and the fur trade. Also known as the Seven Years War. The British win and they gain control of the Mississippi river and the land east of the Mississipi river. Also parts of Canada. -
Proclamation of 1763
It was an imaginery line drawn by British officials that kept the colonist from settling west of the Appalacian mountains. This law angered many colonist. -
The sugar act
Parliament passed a modified version of the Sugar and Molasses Act in 1733. Under the Molasses colonial merchants had been required to pay a tax of 6 pence per gallon on the importation of foreign molasses. -
The stamp act
The new tax was imposed on all American coloniest and required them to pay a tax on every printed piece of paper they used, such as: newspapers, pamphlets, license, legal documents, and playing cards. -

An arguement between soliders guarding custom house and crowd. The rumor is that someone threw a rock resulting in five people dead. They used propaganda to increase the hatred of British soldiers. -

Formed by Samuel Adams, they used violence to protest against taxes. -
Tea act
Lowered the price of tea but required colonist to buy from the east india company. This put a lot of buisness down and some even used the black market. -
Committees of correspondence
Formed to allow the colonies to communicate with each other. This spread revolutionary acts. It was quicker than other methods, and the writins would be read aloud. -
Intolerable act
The American Patriots name for a series of punitive laws passed by the British Parliment in 1774 after the Boston tea party. -
Boston Tea Party
Three ships were anchored in the Boston harbor. The governor ordered to unload the cargo of tea and the colonist threatened not to unload, and 90,000lbs of tea went over board by patriots dressed as native americans.
