French and Indian war
In the 1754's through 1763, a war began between France and Britain in North America over the Ohio River Valley. Despite the French already own the land, the British Governor Dinwiddie demanded the French to leave. They don't leave. The French have the early victories but, the British have the overall victories. For winning they get part of the Ohio River Valley. -
The Proclamation of 1763
Following the French and Indian war the British passed the Proclamation of 1763. This border was created to separate the Colonists and the Indians so it prevents war because Britain is already in debt for the French and Indian war. The Apalachain Mountains were the physical barrier. It was illegal to cross this barrier -
The Sugar Act
Following the Proclamation of 1763, the British Parliament passed the Sugar Act. This act required colonists to pay a three-cent tax on foreign refined sugar. It increased the existing tax on indigo, and coffee and certain kinds of wine and it also banned importation of rum and french wine. Colonists were infuriated by this tax. -
The Stamp Act
Following the Sugar act was The Stamp Act required that this stamp be placed on all important documents including court papers, licences, newspapers, almanacs, and even playing cards. Some towns burned or sent these stamps back the way they came. -
The Townshend Acts
The Townshend acts required tax collectors to search houses and ships for stolen taxed goods and money -
Boston Massacre
Following the Townshend Acts was the Boston Massacre. Tensions between England and the American Colonies were high. Tensions in Boston, Massachusetts, especially high. -

A fight between 60 colonists and 900 British soldiers began at Lexington. first the colonists lost the first battle, but they won the second battle with 1,000 colonists to 900 British soldiers at Concord .
