End of French & Indian War
This is the end of the French and Indian War. It started in 1754. The French were the ones who come out victorious. -
Proclamation of 1763
This happened right after the war. This allowed the colonist to celebrate and opened many events for them. This left the frontier open for the colonist but became off limits. This happened because peoople feared that they would hurt the indians. -
The Sugar Act
This act was when merchants had to pay tax on sugar and molasses. They found out that it would be cheaper in the English than the Britain Indies. This hurt there product. The act said the colony could only buy so much. -
The Stamp Act
This was the first time government was introduced into the clonies. Britian was faced with a debt and had to makes taxes, -
The Townshend Revenue Act
Taxes on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea were applied with the design of raising money for the administration of the colonies. Britain lost its trades. -
Boston Non-Importation Agreement
This was when the merchants in the colony had to pay taxes.They would not send any thing from great Britian. This made the good more expensive. -
The Boston Massacre
This event occured when patriots were throwing things at British officers. They returned with an attack. People died and some were arrested. -
The Gaspee Affair
The Sons of Liberty were very active throughout the colonies. This was when they burned a ship with goods. These goods were headed to the colonies. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act was when people wanted to reduce the tea supply in Britain. They shiped the tea to the colonies but they wouldn't take it so they left it there on the docks to rot. -
The Boston Tea Party
On this day a group of men went to the harbor dressed up like indians. They borded three ships and dumped 45 tons of tea in to the harbor. -
The Association
This event was a universal prohibition of trade with Great Britain. Good were exported with England and many things changed. This had an effect on the colony. -
Declaration of Independence
This was signed refureing to the 13 colonies. It said that they were no longer part of Britain.
