Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris brought about the end of the French and Indian War, resulting in peace among Great Britain, Spain and France. The treaty was signed in Paris on Februrary 10, 1763 by representitives of Great Britain, Spain and France. This is important to history because it ended the Seven Years war or the French and Indian War. -

Pontiac's Rebellion
The Indians that were affected by the Treaty of Paris like the Mascouten , Mississauga , Ottawa , Potawatomi , Olibwa , Miami , Kickapoo , Delaware , Shmost Sawnee , and Seneca. In the spring of 1763 members of these groups suprised and capture most of the British forts in the Ohio River Valley . In the summer and fall , they also radied settlements of western Pennslyvania , Maryland and Virgina . Ottawan cheif led this rebellion. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was issued by King George III. The purpose of the Proclamation of 1763 was to order colonial settlers to remain east of the Appalachian Mountains. King George III ordered the Proclamation of 1763 because he did not want conflict between Great Britain and the Natives. This however, angered the colonist because they fought to gain the land for Great Britain and the colonists were confined to their land they currently owned. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. This was the first time that Parliament had imposed a direct tax within the colonies.The new tax was imposed on all the colonists and it required them to pay a tax on every piece of paper they used. The money collected was used to pay off the French and Indian War. This is historically important because the colonists would eventually rebel. -
Nonimportation Agreement
The nonimportation agreements was a response to British taxes. Some colonial leaders oppose the taxes but feared the violence of crowds. NIne colonies sent delegates to a Stamp Act Congress held in New York in October 1765. The member of the congress encouraged a consumer boycott of goods imported from Britain. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act was passed in May of 1773. It was a tax on all tea from Great Britain. The tea boycott worsened financial problems for the already struggling British East India Company. To help to company, Parliament passed a law allowing the company to sell directly to the colonists. This is important because this act would soon lead to the Boston Tea Party. -
Boston Tea Party
On the night of December 16, 1773, Boston Partiots, dressed as Mohawk Indians, boarded three British ships loaded with tea and dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor. This will soon lead to the Revolutionary War. -
First Continental Congress
In the fall of 1774, dlegates from every colony except Georgia met in Carptner's Hall Philadelphia , Pennsylvania. They meet to pressure Parliament to withdraw the Coercive Acts. They didn't advocate independence but they tried to change the wrong that Parliament did to the colonies with a unified voice. -
The Battles of Lexington and Concord
On April 19 1775, war erupted at Lexington and Concord, two country towns west of Boston. General Thomas Gage , governor of Massachusetts , provoked the battles by sending troops to arrest John Hancock and Samuel Adams in Lexington and to seize Patriot weapons stockpiled in Concord.
