French/Indian War
The North American battle in the war between Great Britain and France called the 7 Years War. It started in 1754 and ended in 1763 with the Treaty of Paris. -

A sequence of acts passed by parliament that taxed all goods imorted to the American Colonies. -
Boston Masacre
A riot in Boston that begun with the colonists arguing. Troops had to intervine and they shot and killed many of the rioters. -
Tea Act
An act passed by Parliament for a tax on tea and to reduce the massive amount of tea from the East India Company that was in trouble financially. -
Boston Tea Party
A riot where the Boston Colonists threw hundreds of tea chests off of the boats in the Boston Harbor. This was in protest of the taxes on tea and the East India Company. -
Intolerable Acts
A term invented long after a series of punishing British Laws passed after the Boston Tea Party. -
1st and 2nd Continental Congress
The 1st was a meeting of delegates from 12 of the colonies. This was early in the American Revolution and held in Pennsylvania.The 2nd was also a meeting of delegates from the 13 coloniessoon after the start of the American Revolution. -
Lexington and Concord
The first battle of the Revolutionary War located in Massachusetts. The British Troops had moved to Lexington and Concord to take the military tools from colonists. -

Thomas Paine published his writings about his ideas in support of American Independence. This spread ideas through the 16th to thed 19th century.
