Taxation without Representation
The colonies had no direct representation of the Parliment. -
French and Indian War
The war was fought between France and Britain, that lasted unitl 1763. They fought over land and the control of the fur trade.The Britiish ended up winning the war, and as a result got possesion of the Mississippi River, land east of the Mississippi River, and parts of what is today Canada. -
Proclamation
The Proclamation of 1763 banned colonization west of the Appalachinain Mountians, and those who already lived there had to move east. -
Sugar Act
Tax was for all sugar and molasses owing into the colonies. For the British troops who had a role in the French and Indian War, they recieved their pay from all the taxation issued to the common people. I thought this was a grand economic impact to the common people for having to pay more than what they had to. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act issued the people to pay taxes on printed values such as newspapers, pamphlets, license, legal documents, playing cards, etc. any of the american boycotted these stamped goods. -
Son of Liberty
The Son of Liberty was formed by Sammuel Adams. Its purpose was to protest against the stampe act , or taxes. In order for them to achieve their goals, they somtimes used intimidation and physical violence. -
Townshed Acts
More items were taxed during this time, such as imported glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. -
Boston Massacre
The boston massacre was an argument between the soldiers gaurding custom house and crowd. As aeslut 5 were killed. To increase hatred between British soldiers, they used propaganda. -
Intolerable Acts
The intorlerable acts was a punishment for those colonist who threw the tea into the Boston Harbor. -
Commitiees of Correspondence
This was formed to allow the colonies to communicate with each other. It was to spread the revolutionary actions, in a quicker way than any other method. The writings would read aloud or published in the colonies. -
Tea Act
The tea act was a new at that lowered the prices of the tea, although it required colonists to buy it from the East india Company. -
Boston Tea Party
Three ships ancored in the Boston Harbo,.Once it was dark, the patriots dressed up as native americans, boarded up the ships, and threw 90,000 pounds of tea overboard
