From king residence to headquarters
The castle returned to its military importance, by adapting and building some buildings to house the Spanish garrison and to serve the castle as a prison. This change happened during 1700s and 1800s. -

Current Use
Castle of Saint George is now opened people to go and visit it to see all the wonderful things inside it. It has been a great hit in comparison to the other castles because it is the most well known castle of Lisbon.
