Clinical Breast Exam
Starting at the age of 20, a clinical breast exam should be done once every three years and at the age of 40 a clinical breast exam should be done once a year. -
Physical Exam
Looks for thyroid, mouth, ovary, skin, prostate and lymph node cancers. Should be done every 3 years ages 20-39 and yearly over the age of 40. -
Cervical Cancer Screening
A pap smear should be done once every three years, starting at the age of 21 until the age of 29. An HPV test is only needed if the pap smear shows unusual results. -
Mammogram
This test uses x-rays to screen the tissue of the breast. It should be started at the age of 45, and be done every year. At the age 55, it can be done once biannually. -
Colon Cancer Screening
Get a colonoscopy every 10 years starting at the age of 50. A colonoscopy is when a small camera on a flexible tube examines your colon. -
Lung Cancer Screening
A low dose CT scan will be taken of the chest once a year from the ages of 55-74. After the age of 74, it may be best to stop exposing the chest area to radiation, but if in good health it is alright to continue yearly screenings.
