Breast Self-examination
Starting in their early 20s women should start to check themselves for any sign of breast cancer. Should occur on regular intervals -
Clinical Breast Exam
Once every three years women should get a CBE starting at age 20. After age 40 women should get examed annualy -
Pap Test
Women should begin pap tests no later then 21 or approximately 3 years after intercourse. Screened every year or two -
Mammography
Annual Mammograohies should be done starting at age 40. -
Endometrial Biopsy
Starting at the age of menopause, women need to be informed on endometrial (uterine) cancer. Some may want to have yearly endometrial biopsies to check for uterine cancer. A sample of the uterus lining is taken and observed under a microscope. -
Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
Age 50, males should have Flexible Sigmoidoscopy or another type of screening. SHould be done every 5 years. -
Colonoscopy
Should be done by males at age 50 and be done once every 10 years -
CT Colonography
Should be done at age 50 and every 5 years -
Fecal Occult Blood Test or Fecal Immunochemical Test
Done yearly starting at age 50 to check for colorectal cancer. It detects occult blood in stool samples.
