Before the attacks there was nothing that Canada had to worry about. there was no worry about terrorist attacks or wars in general. -
The Attack
On September 11 2001 the first tower collapsed after being attacked by the Al Qaeda troops. this event crippled many US and Canadian citizens.The event was very unexpected and traumatized many people who either where victims or know people who were victims. -
Afgahnistan War
This war tok place in Afghanistan. this war was meant to locate and dismantle any active Al-Qaeda training camps that were still active.the war began in october of 2001 this war was initiated because of the 9/11 attacks. this war was quite effective and lasted a very long time. going all the way until 2014 -
The Iraq war
This war began with the US initiating a war in 2003 two years after the 9/11 attacks. Canada did not formally declare war against Iraq until United Nations Granted permission. Eventually the UK and US went to war without UN permission. Because of this Canada did not participate in the Iraq war. -
Epilouge
9/11 caused a lot of changes all around the world. Airport security drastically increased as well as racial profiling. however there are some good things that came out of this. With the security increase there have been many bombing threats stopped.
