Booth could not sleep through the Grand Illumination. This aggravated him. -

The Confederacy was dead. This brought rage to Booth. -
April 14th
The President is coming to Ford's Theater. Booth starts to come up with a plan. -
April 14th
Booth explains to Marry Surrett that he needs her to deliver a package of his things to her tavern. He then tells her that he will be riding out of Washington that night. When he gets to her tavern, he will be picking up the package, guns, and ammunition. -

Booth gets his 44. caliber pistol. -

Booth tells Atzerodt at 10:00pm his plan to assassinate the president. -

Lincoln enters Ford's Theater at 8:30pm. Booth's plan is beginning to go into action. -

Booth enters the Star Saloon while waiting to assassinate Lincoln. -

A little after 10, Booth has his pistol in one hand and his knife in the other. He is waiting for there to be minimal actors on the stage. -

Harry Hawk enters the stage. He says the comical line and the crowd bursts into laughter. Booth then shoots Lincoln in the back of the head. He then jumps on the stage and shouts, "Sic semper tyrannis!"(Swanson 43). -

Luis Powell tries to kill Secretary of State. -

Booth sends Vice President Johnson a Message. It says, "Don't wish to disturb you. Are you home? John Wilkes Booth"(Swanson 15).
