S/I Vena Cava
Blood enters the heart through 2 large viens, the inferior and superior vena cava, emptying oxygen that is poor in the blood from the body into the right atrium of the heart. -
Right Atrium
Blood flows into the right atrium -
Right Ventricle
Blood flows into the right ventricle -
Tricuspid Valve
Blood flows from the right ventricle and into the doorway that is called the Tricuspid Valve -
Pulmonary Artery
Blood leaves the heart through the Pulmonary Artery and into the lungs -
Pulmonary Veins
Blood from the lungs, that is oxygenated, goes through the pulmonary veins which takes the blood back to the heart. -
Left Atrium
From the pulmonary veins, blood goes into the left atrium. -
Mitral Valve
Blood goes through the dorrway called the Mitral Valve -
Left Ventricle
As blood flows into Left Ventricle the Mitral Valve shuts so that the blood can not flow back. -
Aortic Valve
As the left ventricle contracts, blood leaves the hearts through the aortice valve. -
Aorta
Blood leaves the heart through the Aorta
