After the end of the french and Indian war in 1763 Britain gained a lot of power. They monopolized the slave trade. The french had also given them Nova, Scotia, and Newfoundland after the treaty of Utrecht. But Britain gained the whole French Canada. -

These acts demanded that colonist paid tax for simple every day things like newspapers and pamphlets. The colonist protested "No taxation without representation.'' They believed that since they had representatives in parliament they should not be taxed. After this it started the discontent in the colonist which lead to a revolution. -
