Cognitive- begins to form concepts. Notices actions of others children and adults. Loves to mimic all aniamls. Experiments with actions never tried before. Has very short memory and almost no fore thought. -
13 to 18 months
Physical- May be able to walk sideways. Walks into ball: is unable to kick ball. Pushes and pulls large toys around the floor. Begins to scribble. May turn knobs of radio and tv. -
19 to 24 months
Cognitive-learns to distinguish different sounds and smells. Imitates simple actions on request. Likes to make mark on paper with big crayon. -
19 to 24 months
Physical- squats easily in play. can kick large ball without stepping on it. Hangs from bar, grasping withs hands. Loves to run, jump, and climb. -
25 to 30 months
Physical- kicks ball foward. Throws ball overhead but without aiming. Plays on swings, ladders anmd other playground equipment. Climbs on jungle gym with fair amount of ease. -
25 to 30 months
Cognitive- is better able to use near by objects and make believe games. Understands cause and effect in terms of own behavior. Can follow 2-step commands. -
31-36 months
Cognitive- Begins to classify objects into general categories. Uses symbolic representation in make-believe play. Recognizes self in photographs. Identifies familier objects by touch. -
31-36 months
Physical- Likes to in constant motion, running or walking sideways or backward. Enjoys games involving running. Catches large ball with arms and hands out straight. Walks on tiptoe.
