  • Celerifere

about 1790 Comte de Sivrac invented the Celerifere, a crude wooden hobby horse made of two wheels and joined by a beam. The rider would sit atop the beam and propel the contraption by pushing his or her feet against the ground.
  • Bikes:Draisienne

Invented by Barn Karl von Drais. This was less like a bicycle, it did have a typical bicycle frame and two wheels, but it was controlled by walking.
  • Velocipede/Boneshaker

the velocipede or boneshake was a two-wheeled bicycle with pedals on the front wheel. also was known as the bone shaker because the combination of a wood frame and metal tires made an uncomfortable ride over rocky streets.
  • HIgh-Wheeled bicycles

the first models to be called a "bicycle". The high wheel allowed the rider to travel farther with a single rotation of the pedals. also the metal frame and rubber tires provided a more comfortable ride than the velocipede/boneshaker
  • Rover safety bicycle

Invented by John Kemp Starely. Had a strong metal to make a chain, had two of the same-sized wheels and a similar frame to today’s bicycles.
