  • Battle of Galveston

    The Battle of Galveston took place in Galveston, Texas and it was one of the most important battles of the Civil War. The people involved were Paul O. Hebert, Colonel I. S. Burrell, John Bankhead Magruder, William Green Scurry, and Thomas Green. The battle ended in a confederate victory.
  • Battle of Sabine Pass

    This battle took place on the southernmost point of the border between Texas and Louisiana. The narrow channel in the landscape was the most important factor in the events to come. The people involved were President Jefferson Davis and Lieutenant Dick Dowling. This battle also ended in a Confederate victory. Today, it's a national landmark where people can visit and learn about the Battle of Sabine Pass.
  • Battle of Palmito Ranch

    This battle took place in Cameron County, Texas. This is where the last battle of the Civil War took place. People involved were Colonel John Salmon "Rip” Ford (Confed.) and Theodore Harvey Barret (Union). In the end, Southern forces hammered the Union line with artillery, and Barrett ordered a retreat, ending the last battle in the Civil War.
