The Colonial War
The colonial war is a term relating to different conflicts that happened as the result of overseas territories being settled by foreign powers creating a colony. It didn't provide the date so I left the date on April, but the year this occured was 1775. The tensions between the American colonies and the British government reached the breaking point. This was in Massachusetts. That's where Patriot leaders formed a revolutionary government & trained militias to prepare for armed conflict. -
American Revolution War
The American Revolution War started from 1775-1783. The location was Eastern North America. The surrender of the Lord Conwallis began negoations between Great Britian and the United States. This war was also known as the War of Independence. They wanted revenge after their defeat in Seven Years' War. They had their origins in the resistance of many Americans to taxes. -
The War of Independence
This war was also known as the American Revolutionary War. This was from April 19, 1775 to September 3, 1783. This war was the armed conflict between Great Britain and 13 of its North American colonies. They declared themselves the independent United States of America. -
The Northwest Indian War
This war was between 1785-1795. The location of this war was in the Northwest Territory. There's no day given, so I just left it in April, but the time period was 1785-1795. There was a depiction of the treaty of Greenville negotiations. This was a war between the US & the Indian's over the control of the North West Territories. VICTORIES: 1. Greenville Treaty 2. The Barbary War
This war was the first Barbary War. This war was also called the Tripolitanian War & the Barbary Coast War. This was the first of 2 Barbary Wars between the United States & the four North African states. It was known as the "Barbary States." There wasn't a day provided, so I left it how it is, but the time period was 1801-1805. The cause of this war was that the states harbored and support the actions of pirates against American shipping vessels in the Mediterranean Sea. -
War of 1812
The war of 1812 was a military conflict. It lasted from June 18, 1812 to February 18, 1815, This war was fought by the United States of America & Great Britain & their North American colonies. Along with its North American Indian allies. Great Britain was locked in a conflict with Napoleon Bonaparte's France. They attempted to cut off supplies from reaching the enemy. Both sides attempted to block the United States from trading with the each other. This war lead to the increase of nationalism. -
The Mexican-American War
The Mexican-American War marked the first US armed conflict. This war was fought on foreign soil. This war was between the US & Mexico. This resulted in the defeat of Mexico and the loss of half of its national territory in the north. This went from April 25, 1846 to February 2, 1848. -
The Battle of Fort Sumter
The Battle of Fort Sumter started April 12–14 of 1861). This was the bombardment and surrender of Fort Sumter. It was near Charleston in South Carolina. It that started the American Civil War. South Carolina demanded that the US Army abandon its facilities in Charleston Harbor. This started by Davis decided thathe had no choice but to order Anderson to surrender Sumter, but he refused. Then the Civil War began at 4:30 a.m. when Confederate artillery, under the command of Pierson. -
Chickamunga War
The Chickamunga war was a series of back and fourth raids and ambushes. Most of the events happened in the upper South, in the old South West. This was 1776-1795. The Cheerokee leader was Dragging Canoe, who they called "the Savage Nepolean." They also fougiht allies of the kingdom Geat Britain. Settlers were trying to move into their land. -
Quasi-War
This war happened from 1798-1800. It happened by the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, and the Mediterranean. The US Marines escorted French prisoners. They were declaring the nation neutral in the conflict between France and Great Britain. VICTORIES: 1. Peaceful cessation of Franco-American alliance 2. End of French privateer attacks on American shipping 3. Reduction of French privateer and warship activity
