Japanese invasion of China
The Japanese army turned a little war into an unnecessary huge war. Much of Japan was in full support of the war against China. China was no match for Japan, for Japan was wel equipped and China was under- supported.

Hitler tried regain poland by invading it with air and land attacks. Hitler used the blitzkrieg strategy to destory Poland's railroads, communication lines, and air capacity. The Polish were not prepared to take so much damage. Great Britain responded by bombing Germany 3 days later. -

On a Philippine island named Luzon, Filipinio and American prisoners walked 65 miles in the heat to prison camps. The Japanese guards took no sympathy towards them and were cruel and harsh.

Operation Gomorrah

Operation Gomorrah was when British bombers raid Hamburg, Germany. Attacks on HAmburg lasted until November. When the war was over, Hitler himself would not visit the run-down towns. -

The objective of this war was to split the allied the armies to surprise blitzkrieg. The battle of Bulge was the "costliest" war ever fought and supported by the U.S. army. 100,000 U.S. fatalities were caused by this war. -

Battle of Iwo Jima
Iwo Jima was an island in the Bonin chain roughly 575 miles from the Japenese coast. The island was defended by 23,000 Japenese army and navy troops. If Iwo Jima were captured, the Japenese knew it would lead to the battle of Okinawa.

Liverations of the concentration camps
In 1944 and 1945 most survivors were dying and suffering from starvation and some sort of disease. The soviet union were the first to liverate a major camp. Liberations took notice and saw unspeakable conditions of the concentration camps. Only then they saw how bad it really was. INFO: Myself.

Dropping of the atomic bombs
An atomic weapon had not been used until the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The atomic bomb instantly killed 80,000 people.
