He originally said no, but ended up deciding to attend. His remarks became known as the Gettysburg address. It was short, but amazing. Some people said it was great, others said it was horrible.

    Sherman's march to the sea was different, because in it, the North didn't just attack soldiers. They also attacked civilians, and destroyed their homes. General Sherman, didn't show any mercy to the South. They killed the animals that the civilians owned, and took their food. They left them with nothing.

    General Lee's army was running low on supplies. They needed to get some, so they headed for Appomattox Station. However, the North reached them first. So instead, Lee headed toward Lynchburg. But, he was not able to get there, and was surrounded. Eventually, Lee and Grant met up, and negotiated the terms of surrender. This event triggered the end of the Civil War.
