    European settlers arrive.
    European settlers arrive, aboard the first fleet. They attempt to introduce sheep and cows for food. The colonial diet consists mostly of flour, sugar, salt and tea rations. Only the well-to-do are permitted access to the newly established gardens. Some settlers hunt 'roos and fish locally.

  • A steady food supply.

    Produce from established Australian farms is shipped to Sydney to be sold in the public market at Sydney Cove. The first commerical dairy is also founded in Sydney, by Dr John Harris. Tasmania's first licensed pub opens in 1807, however food supplies at the settlement dwindle.
  • Openings, immigrants and an unfortunate event.

    Australia's first goldrush in 1851 attracts immigrants, including many Chinese. Guest's Biscuits and McKenzies foods spring up in 1852. Sasparella soft drink is first sold in Tassie and the first Australian documented Chinese resturant is opened by John Alloo at Ballarat Goldfields, both in 1854. The first pasta factory, The Old Macaroni Factory, is established by the Lucini brothers at an unspecifed date. A big idiot named Thomas Austin decided to release some rabbits in 1859.

    1953 Streets Paddle Pop launched and Chocolate Crackles trademarked.
    1954 Curried Goanna served in Sydney and the Happy Little Vegemites jingle released into the wild.
