The roman empire fell due to many germanic tribes invading and weakening the empire. Huns and others were ruthless fighters taking down the romans quickly and swiftly. -

Charles Martel lead this battle and stopped advancing Muslim forces from entering into the Catholic and Christian lands. The battle took place not far from Paris, France. This turned the tides for the Muslim empire and the spread of there religion. -

This islamic empire reigned until 1258 C.E. They built a capital in Baghdad which has become one of the largest cultural centers of the world. The empire also met a golden age with improvements in steel, medicine, and mathematics. The empire was also somewhat built around trade making it powerful. -

The Aztecs were located in what is today Mexico City. They built there capital Tenochtitlan. The Aztecs mainly conquered areas around them. They would capture men and women as sacrifice for there religion making the military a large part of there religious system as well. -

This war had significant impact due to it resulted in England's withdrawal from France. Someone who had an effect to this war was Joan of Arc. She led the French army into battle and Forced Britain to retreat to Orleans. This set the stage for the victory. -

Many powers like Britain, Spain, and Portugal began navigating and exploring areas for new resources. People like Christopher Columbus and Ferdinand Magellan were either looking for routes to India or mapping out the earth. -
Boston Tea Party
The british issued a tea act (1773) and a stamp act (1765) these acts caused america to burst. They revolted and dumped tea in Boston Harbor to protest it. This infuriated Britain. Causing battles at Lexington and Concord. -
Declaration of Independence
This document announced independance for the 13 colonies from Great Britain. It was made by Thomas Jefferson and edited by the congress. -
Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution chagned the world by modernizing countries industrially. Many countries shifted from agricultural communities to large cities and factory jobs. -
American Revolution
British colonists felt threatened by french colonial settlements. Britain put large taxes on american colonists causing large tension and revolution. This led to the Boston Tea Party explained on another slide. -
Opium Wars
The british introduced opium in 1773. Chinese didn't approve of this so they siezed it in Canton in 1839. This is when the big war started. Chinese couldn't handle the british forces so they were forced to sign Treaty of Nanjing. -
Abraham Lincoln Assassination
John Wilkes Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln during a play at the Persten House. He was the first president to be assassinated and Lincoln Spoke out against slavery. -
World War 1
This war also began when Germany invaded Poland. Allies included Britain, France, Russia, and Japan. The U.S chose to be neutral and isolate. This war ended with the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. -
Great Depression
The U.S stock market crashed on this day adn shattered financial health in Europe. The great depression effected most european economies. Germany who was paying reparations couldn't without american credit so in turn France also ended up with no money. The world economy spiraled downward. -
World War 2
On this day Germany invaded Poland. Hitler was the communist leader in Germany and Mussolini a facist leader at the time. This war was also considered a continuation of world war 1. This war ended around 1945. -
Pearl Harbor
Attack by Japanese Imperial Army on U.S naval base. All 8 U.S destroyers were damaged and this draws U.S in to world war 2. -
John F. Kennedy Assassination
John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. He was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald at 12:30 pm. Lyndon B. Johnson took Kennedys position as president after the assassination. -
Martin Luther King Jr. Assassination
King fought for the rights of blacks in the U.S. In a time of segregation. He was shot by a white man against the African American rights movement. King won the nobel peace prize and many other awards. He helped change segregation in America forever. -
9/11
Al-Quaeda performed a terrorist attack on the United States world trade center buildings in New York City. Killing thousands of people and starting a hunt for Osama Bin Ladin. -

T'ang Dynasty
Ruled under Emperor Xuanzong and it expanded into Manchuria, Mongolia, Tibet, and Korea. It ended in 907 due to local warlords gaining power and overthrowing them.
