Antonio López de Santa Anna Pérez de Lebrón Born February 21,1794 Jalapa, Mexico. The son of a minor colonial official, Santa Anna. His real name was Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón. -
Starting in the army
April 13,1810 at 16 he became an army cadet. He found what he wanted to do. He loved working in the army. -
First war
March 13,1811 Antonio Lopez and five hundred others got sent to Tampico. They were to fight Hidalgo’s forces. They were disappointed because he was captured by the time they arrived -
Second war
In 1813 he fought in Texas. Texas declared rebellion against U.S settlers. March 2, 1813 his army defeated Texas forces. -
Going to the U.S
Santa Anna went to washington D.C to meet with President Andrew Jackson. When he returned he was let go for the power he had from going to the U.S. Then still in the government but in a lower power than he was once at. 1829 -
Third war
Santa Anna went to the Jacinto River. He got beat on April 21,1829 in the battle of San Jacinto. Santa Anna was captured by Gen.Sam Houston. -
Fourth war
1838 French navy seized Veracruz. Santa Anna led his army to Veracruz to shoot at the ships. He lost a leg in skirmish. -
Fifth war
1845 War started with the U.S and Santa Anna talked to President James K. Polk. They talked about a peace treaty. But instead he led his army to fight but got beat by U.S general Winfield Scott. -
Sixths war
In 1847 Moved to Jamaica and to New Granada in 1853. Then he tried to overthrow the emperor Maximilian. -
Death
Santa Anna died June 21,1876. In Mexico City, Mexico. He lived a good life RIP Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón.
