Hesoid was the 2nd major poet after Homer. He wrote "Works and Days" which are a type of farmers record. -

Archilochus
Archilochus was a poet who wrote about personal stories. He was a soldier and a traveler. He was one of the first to write about his personal thoughts and feeling. -

Historical Literature
From the 5th century BCE, historians started to write about past events, trying to understand why wars occurred. and how the people changed because of the wars. -

The Burning Library of Alexandria
The library of Alexandria was burned to the ground by a Greek emperor. Sadly, we will never know what books where in this great library. More than 40,000 works of science, literature, philosophy, and history were burned to the ground, never to be seen again.
