Leonardo finds a mentor.

Leonardo, now 14, goes to the center of Florence to find an apprenticeship as an Artisan. His father finds him a mentor, a man named Andrea Del Verrocchio. Andrea Del Verrocchio, immediately impressed by just one drawing, took Leonardo as an apprentice. -

Joins guild.

Leonardo is arrested.
Charged with sodomy, Leonardo is arrested and held at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. He is later found guilty and, as common with homosexuallity in this time, is sentenced to death. -
Octave Chanute Creates East River Bridge (Brooklyn Bridge)

On January 3rd 1870, Octave Chanute, an engineer from Paris, began construction of the famous Brooklyn Bridge. This is one of a handful of bridges that he designed and built among other acomplishments such as railroads and stock yards. -
