Samuel Adams writes and sends a letter that included the approval of the Massachusetts assembly arguing against the Town shed acts. Later protested by the British. -

Boston massacre
A mob of angry workers and sailors protested the taxes by attacking a patrol of 9 British soldiers with rocks and snowballs. The soldiers killed 5 people and wounded 6. The soldiers were put on trial and only 2 were convicted -
Boston tea party
In 1773, the British government passed the tea act. The law gave the British East Indian Company the right to ship cheaper tea to the colonies. This hurt Americans tea merchants. To protest the tea act a mob of colonists boarded a tea ship in Boston and dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the harbor. -

King George the third had parliament issue a series of laws to punish Boston and Massachusetts for the Boston Tea Party.
