  • Indian and French war

    Paris ends the war of the French and Indian. The British in the future taxes the the colonist because they went into dept.

    The proclamation of 1763 was signed contract was to be forbid a settlement with the west of the Appalachian Mountains. That side was the governed as Indian territory.

    To pay for the French and Indian war, the British made the colonist pay taxes on stamps, sugar, tea, and other products.

    The stamp act becomes annual. The declaratory act passed but gives more power to legislate any more laws of the colonies without no restriction.
  • Samuel Adams writes a letter

    Samuel Adams writes and sends a letter that included the approval of the Massachusetts assembly arguing against the Town shed acts. Later protested by the British.

    A mob of angry workers and sailors protested the taxes by attacking a patrol of 9 British soldiers with rocks and snowballs. The soldiers killed 5 people and wounded 6. The soldiers were put on trial and only 2 were convicted
  • Boston tea party

    In 1773, the British government passed the tea act. The law gave the British East Indian Company the right to ship cheaper tea to the colonies. This hurt Americans tea merchants. To protest the tea act a mob of colonists boarded a tea ship in Boston and dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the harbor.
