This is important because most of the revolutions were started because of these ideas. -
Thomas Hobes
Wrote a book called the Leviathan. This book said that people needed to be ruled by some one because they were evil and selfish. How can some evil prevent their people from being evil. King George of England. -
John Locke
He argued that human nature was mutable and that knowledge was gained through accumulated experience rather than by accessing some sort of outside truth. 3 human rights. No government can take away your rights. -
Montesquieu
Seperation of powers to make the government get all sides. The government could never get enough power to one branch. They used this while wirting the constitution and made it so this will not ruin our government. -
Rousseau
He want the people to be able to back out of the governement if it was to bad. Government doesn't have all the power. This was telling people if they don't like don't stick with it. To high of tax you can leave the government. -

The English government was taxing the Americans without there representation. This had made the Americans think about the war because their 3 natural rights were being violated. The main being violated was the right of liberty. -
TheBoston Massacre
This event is when the british killed men by firing their weapons into a crowd of unarmed men and women. This event shows how people are evil and selfish and need to be ruled. This also shows how King George was not the one to rule the people though. -
Boston Tea Party
This event shows that they didn't think that the people should have to pay tax on tea. There ideas weren't proven wrong but they took action and showed their thoughts. There answers were never proven wrong. -
The first battle of the revolution
The day that the men decided to back out of their government contract. This was when the Americans realived that the british were not going to stop taxing them till they forced them. The war broke out and the Americans knew it was for their rights. -
Thomas Jefferson
Thomas jefferson wrote the decleration of independence. This showed that even from great militaries you can take your independence. -
Decleration of Independence
This gave the united states freedom over the british. The army of the british was a lot stronger and showed others that they can do it too. -
Immanuel Kant
He said, "Dare to know! Have courage to use your own reason!" Which he used to say to rebel against eh church and their ideas because most of them were being proven wrong. He was saying that no matter what anyone says your idea is not wrong until proven wrong by reason. -
Constitution is made
This is when the people deicide that to make the best government they would have to split up the powers. They did this to make no part of the government over power the rest. This was a birth of a new great type of government. -
