  • Navigation acts

    The Navigation Acts were laws that were passed by the British to gain money and maintain control over the colonist. It limited trade between the colonies and and Britain.

  • Treaty of Paris of 1763

    The treaty that was made between Britain and France that ended the French and Indian war over control of the Ohio River Valley. the treaty ended the rule of the French in the Americas increasing debt for the British

  • Sugar Act

    Britain was low on money. they put a high tax on sugar which infuriated the colonist.

  • Stamp Act Congress of 1765

    A group of people that boycotted British goods and petitioned the king. This basically meant that Britain was making less money because of the taxes.

  • Quartering Acts

    To insure that people are paying the taxes the Quartering Act is made. In which the colonist must let British Soldiers take home in their own homes.

  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was an act of parliament that taxed many printed goods such as paper. It was made to collect money as through the loss of money in the French and Indian War

  • Writs of Assistance

    This is basically a "search warrant". It served for the soldiers already there to have the right to search anyone's home to look for smuggled goods.

  • Declaratory Act

    After the British repeal the Stamp act they put the Declaratory Act. Which said they were in complete control over the colonies but most ignored it.

  • Townshend Act

    The British have revised their "amazing" plan. They tax before they got to the colonies but the colonist notice still and are angry about it

  • Boston Massacre

    The colonist were protesting against some of the acts against the soldiers. Eventually they were harassing them and were being beaten so a soldier finally shot.

  • First Continental Congress

    Voted to ban trade with the British. Georgia wasn't there.

  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    70 colonist were armed and ready to fight waiting for the British. they finally arrived in Lexington and the British won that. The British traveled to Concord only to find no weapons or anyone and where chased back to boston.
