In 1754 George Washington led a surprise attack on a small French force at Jumonville Glen. This is what sparked the Seven Years war. -
The end of the french and Indian war
The French and Indian War ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. The War gave Great Britain an enormous amount of land in North America. Great Britain then taxed the colonists more to pay for the war expenses Which made the colonists mad and eventually led to the American Revolution. -
Stamp act
This act stated that anything made with paper must have a stamp or else the colonist would be taxed. After hearing this news the colonists rebelled and opposed the new act -
Sugar act
This act stated that anything that was made with sugar outside of the colonies would be taxed. This spread even more outrage throughout the colonies. -
quartering act
This act provided that a quarter of the colonists' paychecks went to the British soldiers. Soldiers could also go to colonist houses and use whatever supplies or food they wanted. -
Tea act
This act made it so any colonists who bought tea would be taxed. -
Boston tea party
The Boston Tea Party was a protest involving a group of 60 people who dressed up as native Americans dumping 342 chests of tea into the Boston harbor to oppose the tax on tea.
