    A war between the British Colonies and native-backed New France.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    King George placed a tax on sugar and coffee because he believed that the colonies should pay back the war funds spent on defending them during the French and Indian War.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    A year after the Sugar Act, King George decides to add another tax to help bring in revenue. This tax was on any and all paper goods, if it didn't have the King's stamp on it saying that the tax had been payed, the paper was illegal.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    British soldiers were ordered to fire on a group of colonists who were were throwing snowballs and rocks at them. 5 people died, the first to be killed by British hand in the American revolution was Crispus Attucks.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Sons of Liberty, a group of revolutionaries, dressed as Natives, went onto a cargo ship docked in the Boston Harbor and tossed all the crates of tea on board into the harbor after smashing them, ensuring that they would be useless.

    Representatives from all of the colonies, except Georgia, gathered in Philadelphia to discuss how to continue with the revolution.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The first battle of the American Revolution. The British marched on Lexington first and towards Concord where the American Militia took a stand against them. The march was to destroy the rebel's weapon stores.
