This was designed to punish the inhabitants of Boston. This was a punishment for dumping the tea into the Boston Harbor. -

A pamphlet written by Thomas Paine advocating independence from Great Britain to people in the Thirteen Colonies. -
Stamp act
The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. Parliament first law was to raise taxes from the colonies. It had to pass the Parliament to raise the revenue.
