French and Indian War
This war was between France and Great Britain, and Great Britain wins but loses a lot of money. Britain wanted the American colonies to help pay for their debt, but they dont want to pay, this starts the fire of the American Rev. -
Stamp Act
Everything basically involving paper had to have a stamp on it, proving it had been paid for. This made the colonist angry and just added more fuel to the fire. -
Boston Massacre
Colonist attack a group of soldiers that were gaurding a customs house and 5 colonist end up dead. Once again got the colonist fired up and ready for the upcoming war. -
Boston Tea Party
The king made a "tea act" forcing the colonist to pay rediculas prices for tea and they were forced to only buy from one company. The colonist dress up like idians and throw thousands of dollars worth of tea in to the ocean. -
Intolerable Acts
The king bans all public meetings and cracks down on the colonist, he closes the ports so nothing can come in and out. The people were not getting fair trials, and they had to house and feed british soldiers. -
Lexington and Concord
The British come to looking for weapions and rebel leaders to stop the revolution from ever happening, But the British lose. The first shot fired in the American Rev. was fired at this time. -
Declaration of Independece
A document stating our freedom from britain was signed. This showed we did not want to belong to britain any more. -
Saratoga
Morgan killed a leader neat the city and the Americans capture an army. Frence signed an alliance after this battle. -
Yorktown
There is a battle fought and Great Britain surrenders to the Americans and French. -
Treaty of Paris
This treaty signs the end of the revolution. America is free. -
Constitution
This document is signed stateing every right an american has and cant be taken away by government. -
Bill of Rights
the collective name for the first ten amendments. These gaurentee an bunch of personal freedoms and they limit the government, so the government cant get to strong.
