    Concessions given to the South post reconstruction. Created to make things better after the civil war.

    A photojournalism book published by Jacob Riis. This book was created to show some of the real horrors of the world that most people do not recognize or think about on a regular basis.

    Used as a recourse station for the United States. Full of sugar planters.
  • Spanish/American War

    War fought between the United States and Spain on Cuban land. This war gave Cuba it's independence.
  • Plessy V. Ferguson

    Supreme court case that decided that if races are allowed something it never ends equally. This was established to end some forms of segregation.
  • Cuban Invasion

    Organized a group of ex soldiers to fight in Cuba. These soldiers were name the Rough Riders.

    An American novel written by a man named Upton Sinclair. Created to show how bad things really are in many industries in the U.S. and how bad things were for immigrants.

    A very large Britain ocean liner. The largest ship created at one point in time.

    A fire that killed 146 workers on the job. This accident caused a movement to make regulations to keep the workplace much more safe for workers.

    The 19th amendment ratified to the Constitution. Gave women the right to vote in all elections.

    An African American muslim minister. He was a human rights activist for black Americans.

    Gave the "I have a dream" speech that motivated many people in his lifetime. He was assassinated later in his life.

    Became the 33rd president of the United States. He was a miner and a quaker when he was growing up.

    Great economic downfall for the United States. The entire stock market crashed and caused many issues with jobs.

    Dust storms which occurred during the same time of the Great Depression. The dust bowl caused many farmers to lose their crops because of the terrible storms.
  • Lend-Lease Act 1941

    President could lend or lease goods to anyone who wanted to help defend the United States. U.S. imposed embargo on Japan and froze getting goods from their country.
  • Pearl Harbor

    A surprise attack on United States soil executed by Japan. This incident ultimately caused the U.S. to become more involved in World War II.
  • Internment Camps

    Camps created much like Nazi Concentration camps. Created to keep Japanese Americans isolated during World War II.

    Most powerful weapon ever created. The United States dropped two of these bombs on Japan during World War II.

    This act proposed a major restructuring of the United States. Specifically in the areas of government and military.

    One major crisis during the timespan of the Cold War. Blocked many citizens of Germany from getting food and supplies needed to survive.

    Segregation that was established by federal laws. This type of segregation was established in places such as school systems.

    An invasion taken place in Egypt. This invasion was planned and executed by Isreal.

    Wall created to separate Germany into a democratic and a communist division. This wall was later torn down after all disputes between east and west germany were resolved.
  • Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty

    Established by the United States, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union. Created to ban nuclear weapon testing anywhere in the world.
  • Watergate Scandal

    Scandal that caused Nixon's presidency to come to an early end. Nixon recorded tapes of private information and refused to give them up.

    Considered the best president of all time by many citizens. Caused national debt to triple by the end of his presidental term in office.

    One of the only 2 presidents in U.S. history to become impeached while in office. Aside from his scandal, Bill Clinton was pretty well liked as a president.

    Served at the 43rd president of the United States. Not a very great president, but a very down to earth guy that most American citizens enjoyed having as president.

    Terrorist attacks that occurred in the U.S. Al Queda attacked the world trade center, the pentagon, and attemped to attack the white house.

    Established after the 9/11 terror attacks in the United States. Created the idea of war on terrorism.
