The Beginning of the Renaissance
The Renaissance is the time period when interest in education, art, and science peaked in Europe. People started to appreciate the beauty of nature and human beings. The End of the Renaissance
Gutenberg invented the printing press around 1450, making more books than ever. The printing press made books less pricy and encouraged more people to learn how to read and write. -
World War 1 Begins
About 50/65 million people died in World War 1. The British were almost wiped out in the begining. The trenches were just wide enough for one persone to walk through and were filled with mice, mud and lice. Many died accoplishing practically nothing. Meanwhile, the Industrial Revolution was starting and people mass produced new weapons that worked more efficiently and killed more. Planes and tanks were used for battles as well as German U-Boats. -

After World War 1, and Germany was defeated by the Allied Powers, Germany had to pay 33 billion dollars to the victors. Germany started to produce tons more money because of money loss, but it just made it worthless. The unemployment was high, and there was frequent civil unreset. World War 2 Ends
So they turned to Adolf Hitler who was the leader fo the Nazi party.He brought facism with him, which brings out patriotism, which is good. But it also takes away peoples freedom, and lets the strong countries conquer weak ones. Adolf immedeatly started manufacturing tanks and airplanes as soon as he bacame dictator. World War 2 Continued
and Japan. They formed the Axis Powers. But when Germany invaded Poland, Great Britain declared war. The US helped Great Britain and France by sending them things they needed, and thye wouldn't go into war. Though, they did block all trade embarking with Japan, which led to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. A day after, the US joined the war and nuclear bombed HIroshima and Nagasaki. The Allied Powers later cornered Hitler, but he killed himself before they could reach him, he did suicide. -
Cold War Beginning
The Cold War was a 40-year stand off between the US and the Soviet Union which is made up of Russia, Ukraine and several other countries. People thought that the Soviet Union would Spread communism all over the world. In the US, Harry S. Truman used containment that used 3 different approaches. Cold War Continued
Earth. It actually helped prevent and all out war, and that's why it's called the cold war. They never really fought, but they were at check. It actually got people into space too. The US and the Soviet Union were doing a 'space race' to see who could get to the moon first. Then the Berlin Wall fell in Germany, and the Soviet Union collapsed. That is why some people say that US won, when there was actually no victor.
