The Romantic Era was the capturing of the smallness of man compared to nature. In America the common view was that nature was to be worshipped and was the architecture of God compared to the Cathedrals in Europe. It transitioned from Neoclassical views of damnation and rational thought and laws to wondering of imagination and the mysteries surrounding humans in the earth. -
