    Middle Passage

    During the Middle Passage 10-12 million slaves were transported by the Zong from Africa to South America. 15% of the slaves died on the ship through this journy. During this journy the slaves were kept in close quarters with little to no room. They also were kept in the hold with little to no sunlight and held together by shackles so that they did not have the opportunity to revolt.
  • Stono Rebellion

    Stono Rebellion
    It was a slave rebellion that happened in the colony of South Carolina. Besides the American Revolution this was the biggest slave uprising in Britain.
  • Seven Years' War

    Seven Years' War
    The main conflict of the war came between 1754 and 1763 the war was between France and Britain and it began in North America. France was forced to withdraw and Great Britain won.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar act was passed to raise money for Britain instead of regulating American trade. By implimenting the Sugar Act the British hoped the tax would actually be collect.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act was also passed to raise money by taxing printed materials like like things like deeds, newspapers, and playing cards. In 1766 Parliament was foreced to repeal the Stamp Act.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    This act taxed glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea imported into the colonies from Britain. This act was being resisted in Boston which caused British to put two regiments of troops there in 1768.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    Britsh troops opened fire into an angry croud of Bostonians resulting in 5 deaths and 6 injured. These British troops have been stationed in Boston since 1768 to protect and support colonial officials trying to enforce unpopular Parliamentary legislation.
  • Continental Congress

    Continental Congress
    A group that met in Philidalphia that demanded the repeal of all opressive legislation. In November militia began to stock fire arms around Boston.
  • Market Revolution

    Market Revolution
    This transformed the North into a modern industrial society. This changed from subsistant farming, goods from artisains to commercial farming factory production and national markets.
  • Slavery spreads to the Americas

    Slavery spreads to the Americas
    At this time England established slave trade. Throughout the time of the slave trade 1.7 million Africans were transported. By 1830 about 2 million were sold to British in North America. This event was a major economical money maker for the future of America.

    AASS
    William Lloyd Garrison created the AASS which was the most sugnificant abolistionist group which was a turning point in the abolistionist cause.
  • Manafest Destiny

    Manafest Destiny
    Made it clear that war was to expand the boundaries of the United States because they cleared up the political and economical progress.
