1918/1919- Obsessions and antisemitism
People felt humiliated and believed that the war could be won if the army had not been betrayed by politicians and protesters. For him, these views became an obsession, and his intolerance and paranoid delusions led him to blame the Jews. -

- proliferation of war. These conspiracy theories were born out of fear, anger, and bigotry, not fact. Hitler joined a small nationalist political party. His manipulative public discourse launched him into leadership and drew ever-larger crowds. -
1919- Collapse of the imperial government
Unrest and workers' strikes spread throughout the country. -
1920- Creation of Nazy party
At first the Nazi party was unsuccessful. -
1923- Hitler's imprisonment
After a failed attempt to overthrow the government, the party was banned and Hitler jailed for treason. -
1924- Hitler gets out of prison
After nine months, he was paroled in late 1924 for good behavior.
He rebuilt the movement and took advantage of people's anger at the ailing economy. Hitler promises to regain the former greatness of Germany. He got a lot of votes. -
1929- Great Depression
The Great Depression happened. I drive to:
- American banks withdraw their loans from Germany.
- The already struggling economy collapsed overnight. -
1933- Hitler becomes Chancellor
He ran for president, losing the election to the decorated war hero, General von Hindenburg. He resigned in 1933 and appointed Hitller as chancellor. -
1933- Reichstag fire
A young worker was covinced of setting fire to the parliament building. He use the event to convince the government to grant him emergency powers. -
1933- Hitler's expansion
He argued that only he could restore law and order. In a matter of months, freedom of the press was abolished, other parties were dissolved, and anti-Jewish laws were passed. Many of Hitler's early radical supporters were arrested and executed, along with potential rivals. -
1934- Death of the president Hindenburg and expansion of Nazism
President Hindenburg died and there were no new elections. Hitler's speeches exploited the fear and anger of the people. He got powerful and influential people to support him and the Nazi party. -
1945- Death
He died on April 30, 1945 in Führerbunker, Berlin, Germany at the age of 75. The cause of his death is still a mystery, there are several hypotheses, but none is clear.
