Political Career Begins
Lincoln began his political career with his first campaign the Illinois General Assembly. -
Second Cammpaign
He won election to the state legislature; though he ran as a Whig, many Democrats favored him over a more powerful Whig opponent. -
Accepted to the Bar- Law Career
began to practice law under John T. Stuart, Mary Todd's cousin. He partnered with Stephen T. Logan from 1841 until 1844, when he began his practice with William Herndon. He served four successive terms in the Illinois House of Representatives as a Whig representative. -
Lincoln Marries
Abraham Lincoln marries Mary Todd, a wealthy girl from a slave holding family. They were engaged before, but second guessed their relationship then later on reunited and got married -

Abraham Lincoln is reelected as president. -
Assasination
Abraham Lincoln was left unattended while his body guard was in the bar next to the theater that Lincoln was in and Booth, a known conspirator, plotted, and then shot Abraham Lincoln. He escaped after stabbing another person and was on the run, but then on April 16 Booth was killed by Boston Corbett. Lincoln's official time of death was actuall on April 15th after a nine hour coma.
