Happy Birthday
I was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, healthy and cute. -
I'm a Big Kid Now!
I started school! -
Gifted
I tested in the 96th percentile on the Florida Comprehension Assessment Test and was recommended to be tested into the gifted program. I failed the test for gifted the first time, purposefully, because I did not want to transfer schools. My mom and teacher made me take it again, I scored really high. My mom let me stay at my school, as long as I received straight A's. I fulfilled my promise. -
Spartan Dolls
I tried out to become a Spartan Doll in middle school, and I was one of four incoming sixth graders who made the dance team. It was hard to get on. I had beat many 6th-8th grade girls for my spot. -
Beep! Beep! Coming Through
I received my driver's license. -

Goodbye Florida, Hello DMV!
I moved to Maryland to become a teacher in Baltimore. -
Closing the gap
I moved to Maryland, and became an ELA teacher for 6th grade, in Baltimore. My students struggle with literacy. Part of that reason is my students lack foundation skills. I am now a 7th grade teacher, teaching the same students. I see many growths between this year and last, but they still struggle with comprehension, spelling, writing, ect. My role has changed, so has my perspective, on literacy, too. I am no longer concerned with just my ability, but those I teach, as well.
