War Industries Board (WIB) was established in 1917 & recognized in 1918. Its leader was Bernard M. Baruch. They encouraged companies to use other production techniques to increase efficiency & help eliminate waste. Under WIB U.S. production increased by 20% w/ it the retail prices soared. 1918 prices were double. -
