Barbie Car Phone
I know this is technology, but I remember thinking that having a phone in my Barbie car was super sweet because it was unfathomable that any of us would EVER have a car phone. Now we all have cell phones!! -
Walkman
I had a pink Walkman that I would listen to while I read. Now whenever I hear Wilson Phillips I think of Nancy Drew -
It just takes a quarter
I lived across the street from the high school, so my guy friends would call me from the payphone at the high school and tell me to "go for a walk" so I could go hang out with them without my parents knowing they were close enough to meet up with. -
Soooo many steps
My parents installed a cassette player into my first car so I could hook up an adapter to my disc man... so I could play CDs... that I had obviously burned from my friends. -
Zack Morris Phone
The phone that never left your car, because you couldn't actually afford to make phone calls, but that your parents felt safer knowing you had. And yes, I still have mine. And no, it couldn't send text messages -
Mapquest
It was the worst when you printed out driving directions and left them home in your printer!! -
music by the pound
In high school and college everyone had multiple, heavy, CD cases to haul all of their music around with in their cars. -
Free Music!!
Okay, not really free, apparently according to the courts it was actually stealing. In college we downloaded music like crazy and willingly accepted the viruses that came with it! -
Pager
When I was in college I had a pager from my employer that would receive and send text messages. They used it for work...I used it for personal use!! -
What is this?!?!
I remember receiving my first text message and not having a clue of what it was or how my phone had done.
