Tenochtitlan rise and fall
Tenochtitlan is the capital of the Aztec. In the year 1352 Tenochtitlan was founded. This later became the most powerful and dominant place in Mesoamerica. In 1521 the Spanish captured and took over this area. -

Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu was built by the Inca in th year 1450. Hiram Bingham on July 24, 1911 discovered the remains of Machu Picchu. They believe that it was a sacred place for the Inca people. The Inca lived there around one hundred years. Llamas were used for carrying goods from place to place. At Machu Picchu Inca people grew food food themselves as well as for trading. -

Colombian Exchange
The Columbian Exchange is when culture, animals, plants, people, and other resources were brought from the old world to the new world. This began when Christopher Columbus made his journey to America in 1492. -

Bartolome de Las Casas
Bartolome was a writer and and also a priest. In 1493 he saw Colombus return from his exploration of the new world. Later he went on one of the voyages with Christopher. He wrote books about all of the bad things that occured during this journey. Bartolome saw the horrible murders of the slaves. He later fought for the slaves to begin having more rights and being treated fairly. -

Francisco Pizarro
Francisco Pizarro was a spanish explorer. He first went to explore the New World in 1502. Then in 1513 he was one of the first explorers to see the Pacific Coast. He went on to two explorations to the New World. He conquered the Inca Empire in 1526. And later became the founder of Lima. -
May 16, 1520
Montazuma
Montazuma was the leeader of Tenochtitlan in 1502 until 1520. He became leader after the spaniards took over. It is said that before Montazuma died he put a curse on the Europeans. The curse is now called Montazumas revenge. -

La Noche Triste
La Noche Triste was a battle between the Spainish and the aztec. Cortes played a role in this fight. At the end of the battle many people had died and Cortes along with the other men on his side were lucky to have made it through Tenochtitlan. -

The fall of the Aztec Empire
Cortes went to Mexico not wanting to invade the land. The Aztec believed that Cortes and the other spainish people were their gods because they were pale skinned. Cortes went along with whatever the Aztecs said. After a while Cortes began capturing the men and killing them and in 1521 the spanish army took over the Aztec Empire. -
The Haitian Revolution
The fight for independence for the African American slaves was the cause of this revolution. The leader in the Revolution was Toussaint Louverture, who was actually enslaved, he lead the other slaves in the fight. The French surrendered and the slaves began receiving more rights. -
Countries in South America Gaining Independence
Simon Bolivar was the general at this time. He was involved in a revolt against the Spanish to gain independence of Venezuela, Columbia, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. By 1825 Bolivar had gotten independence of all of these countries as well as make Peru into two seperate places Peru and Bolivia. -
Tikal
Tikal was a Mayan city that is in Guatemala. An archaeologist discovered the ruins in 1848. They had been there for over a thousand years without being seen. The Mayan people had built all of the thingas found there today.
